The Mass

Have you ever thought about what it would be like if all the people in the world were in a big pile.

I mean think of the mass.

Politics and Change

Since I have excruciating trouble remembering peoples' names, it always amazes me how much I retain and can repeat verbatim from old TV and movies. Maybe that guy who created the "School House Rock" bumpers I grew up watching was really onto something... 'E-lec-tricity...' but I digress.

The whole Obama change campaign reminds me of a piece of television I saw in my youth... 1979... WKRP in Cincinnati... The episode featured bungling-yet-endearing Aurthur Carlson running for City Council. Before a debate, he was coached by one of the employees that, "if they ask you a question you don't know the answer to, just keep saying 'change.'"

That an entire campaign and therefore a plan for every aspect of our country can be summed up in one word gives me the heebie-jeebies. What's more, the singular quality of "Change" is to separate itself from a know quantity; ergo: something unknown. Clawing my eyes out with a garden weasel would be a change for me. I usually use a phillips head.
